The backrest, known … Read more A set of six antique solid mahogany chairs dating from the second half of the 19th century. The backrest, known as the “medallion” (oval) style, is set within a molded wooden frame finished with an owl’s beak detail. The legs, typically truncated conical and fluted, feature gilded bronze finials at the top and gilded bronze caps at the bottom. General Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using traditional shellac and alcohol-based methods, applied by hand. Origin: France, second half of the 19th century. Dimensions: 47x45x97 cm.
