The gracefully curved cabriole legs terminate in scroll feet, with a carved floral and shell motif apron running the length of each side — hallmarks of the Louis XV style that defined French decorative arts in the 18th century and has never fallen out of favor in refined interiors since. The frame retains its original cream painted finish with honest patina consistent with age.

The upholstery is exceptional. warm cream and greige woven basketweave chenille fabric — a neutral that sits beautifully between ivory, oatmeal and warm grey. The textile has a quiet richness that photographs beautifully and holds up in person even better.
