The bulbous globular body rises from a narrow footed base to a tight neck opening, flanked by two scroll ear handles at the shoulders. The exterior carries a stylized artichoke relief design, a motif with deep roots in Mediterranean and Southern European pottery history.

What distinguishes this piece is its exceptional surface character. The heavy whitewash patina is entirely natural, a chemical process developed over time rather than an applied finish, giving the reddish-brown terracotta body a warm cream and rust surface that is impossible to replicate. Green verdigris and mineral deposits on the base exterior reflect genuine age and outdoor exposure.

Thick irregular hand-thrown walls with no mold seams confirm entirely handmade construction. Unglazed inside and out with no drainage hole, indicating this vessel was made to hold rather than to drain. No maker's mark is present.
