Rare and elegant set of three wall lights by Pia Guidetti Crippa for Lumi Milano, designed in the 1960s — a refined expression of Italian modernist lighting where material, form, and light are masterfully balanced. Each sconce is composed of a sleek chromed metal structure supporting a thick, faceted glass diffuser. The glass, subtly tinted in a pale bluish hue, recalls the distinctive aesthetic of Fontana Arte, while its sculptural, prism-cut surface echoes the sophisticated glasswork associated with Max Ingrand. The design is both minimal and architectural: a hemispherical volume intersected by a vertical chromed stem, creating a precise and elegant presence on the wall. Yet the true essence of these pieces emerges when illuminated. Light passes through the faceted glass and fractures into a rich spectrum of reflections, casting soft halos and dynamic shadows across the surrounding surface. The wall becomes an active element — animated by shifting luminosity, depth, and gentle optical distortions. The effect is at once intimate and atmospheric, refined yet expressive. Unlit, the sconces appear as compact, sculptural objects with cool, mirrored reflections. When lit, they transform into glowing orbs, radiating warmth and creating a layered interplay of transparency and brilliance. Arranged as a trio, they form a rhythmic composition that can be adapted to different spatial configurations — linear, staggered, or free-form — enhancing both residential and architectural interiors. A highly decorative and collectible set, emblematic of the innovation and elegance of Italian lighting design in the 1960s. Condition: Very good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. Original wiring present; replacement recommended to meet local electrical standards.
