Nuremberg wrought iron chest, cut and assembled with rivets and screws. The chest was the quintessential piece of furniture in the Middle Ages, used to store all sorts of objects. Iron chests were reserved for precious items. The mechanism fixed under the lid covers its entire surface with sophisticated gears that operate numerous bolts with a single turn of the key. Inside, there is a small compartment for the most confidential belongings. Two sturdy side handles allow for carrying. Good overall condition. The key works perfectly.
