Exceptional rosewood sideboard with black and white wood inlaid facing., entirely lined with silver cloth. Flatware separators for side drawers are movable.
Made by Charlotte Horstmann and Gerald Godfrey Ltd in Hong Kong in 1984. Reference New York Times article in January 1982 about Mrs Horstmann. "Hong Kong's Antiques Treasure Trove". She was somewhat of a legend!
Living in Hong Kong in the early 1980s provided the sellers with unique and exhilarating shopping experiences. It being an English colony at the time facilitated finding antique treasures and commissioning exquisitely made custom furniture. Charlotte Horstmann's establishment was well known for these qualities.
