A statement seating piece with soft, voluminous lines, created to offer a relaxed yet refined sense of comfort at home, reflecting a more open and informal way of living.

The concept behind this armchair, which marked a turning point in the history of upholstered furniture, was developed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa in 1969. Their design took advantage of the innovative possibilities of molded polyurethane foam, resulting in a distinctly unconventional and leisure-oriented aesthetic.

Its metal frame embraces the armchair like a clamp, securing the seat while allowing the biodegradable inner padding to remain completely free of internal structural support for the first time. This solution enhances the comfort of the upholstered piece in the most liberated sense.
