This is my favorite vintage Stressless recliner by the Norwegian brand Ekornes. Specifically, this special recliner ottoman combo is what I think (?) may be called the “Royal”, in a Burgundy-Brown color (the red tone is often referred to as "Bordeaux" or "Wine Red"). It was acquired from a local estate & I don’t have any other history on the piece.
Features:
Model: The chair's tufted upholstery pattern and flared armrests are characteristic of the Stressless Royal.
Base: It features the classic Stressless bentwood "O" base, which allows for a 360-degree swivel.
Authenticity:
Genuine Ekornes chairs have "Stressless Ekornes" imprinted on the adjustment knobs located on the sides of the chair…it sets them apart form the many chairs that attempt to be similar.
Leather: The color is believed to be Ekornes' Batick or Paloma leather in a brownish-burgundy. We are not totally sure as we are not the original owners. The ottoman-foot rest stool is included, the pillow & crazy quilt are not. :)

While often associated with the 1971 debut of the overall Stressless brand, this model was released a bit later. This incredible set is very unique in its hard to find burgundy red tone colorway. It offers a streamlined profile that provides exceptional support & comfort without the bulk & space of bulky recliners. It is in great vintage condition…some soft creasing and one area has some minor scuffing which is appropriate to its age and history. This is actually a desired “already worn in to perfection” patina, adding significant vintage character and reinforcing the high quality of the materials used by this brand. It is very high end looking and you will receive compliments on it. I’ve had it in my house to condition it and prepare it for sale for only for 3 days & friends and family who have seen it are already drooling over it! This classic recliner is a timeless investment for those seeking a masterfully engineered blend of comfort & high-design heritage! I have give it a good conditioning and it is soft and supple & looks amazing! less
