They have a brass ring in the middle. They remind me of the lamp my grandmother gave me many years ago and I still use it on my dressing table in my dressing room. They look so delicate but in actuality they are quite sturdy. The lamp shades are included. I found these at an antique store in Boise, ID. They are sold as a pair. See less
