On The Design:

This vintage Zeki Müren rug features an exquisite approach to mid-century Turkish modernism. The field presents latticework where green and red tones create a soothing repeat of geometric patterns—a characteristic of Müren's most coveted works. Keen eyes for detail will note how the intentionally weathered patina enhances the geometric formation's subtle variations, where each section speaks to Müren's genius for reinterpreting classical Ottoman design through a contemporary lens.

It’s a light and playful piece with the whimsy of a Zeki Müren rug, but also with the comfortable and livable undertone that his works also embody, so thoughtful in their approach to the postmodernist appeal of the time and collectible in his works curated today.

Condition:

This mid-century rug enjoys good condition for its age and origin. Its pile height has been lowered to preserve its construction, which lends it the distressed look of wear and boho chic in the nap—a low pile height well-suited to swinging and sliding doors, among many clearance-conscious design applications.
