Vintage mid century modern walnut and ashwood dining table from Lane’s iconic “Rhythm” collection, produced in Altavista, VA in the 1960s.
The main dining surface is a plane of bookmatched walnut woodgrain, punctuated by orthogonally oriented inlay at the ends. The legs, made from solid ash, are almost perplexingly thin, tapering to a stiletto point. Nonetheless, the legs and frame support an expanded dining surface of over eight feet, accommodating 10 guests with ease.
The table was refinished five years ago and has been used with protective table pads since then. It shows beautifully and is free of noteworthy imperfections. The set of pads will be included with the table.
The table and leaves are marked with a serial number but do not bear Lane's logo. The design, dimensions, build, and style of serial number are dispositive for Lane's Rhythm collection.
