materials: solid pine.

features: the bonnetière features a single door with three superimposed molded panels, a typical technique of traditional woodworking in the rhineland. The projecting cornice gives the piece a strong architectural presence. The corners are chamfered, a distinctive detail that visually lightens the overall mass of the cabinet. A discreet drawer with a round wooden handle at the bottom adds extra functionality. The cabinet rests on two ball feet at the front. The door lock is functional.

restoration: this antique wardrobe was sanded to remove grime while preserving its patina, which adds to its charm. It was then carefully washed and protected with a colorless wax. One back leg was broken and has been repaired.

condition: the wardrobe shows signs of old wood-boring insect damage. It is heavy and sturdy.
