A dramatic and visually striking atomic Modern sculptural "Diablo (two light)" Brass & perforated enameled metal wall lamp designed by … Read more A dramatic and visually striking atomic Modern sculptural "Diablo (two light)" Brass & perforated enameled metal wall lamp designed by Stilnovo (Italy) and distributed by Gill Glass & Fixtures circa 1950's. Gill Glass was widely recognized for their finely crafted Glass fixtures during the 1920's-50's and resorted to importing "Modern" European designs by the 50's to offset the waning demand for their 30's style fixtures. The wildly Modern body is comprised of an articulating arm mounted Brass frame which suspends the double ended perforated metal cone shades which are original enameled Matte Black exterior with highly contrasting Chartreuse interior finish. Original early yellow Gill Glass & Fixture label still intact on back of mounting plate (see last pic). Due to the very delicate nature of these designs they rarely survived the test of time and continued usage, added the incredible barely used sublime condition of this specimen and your likely to never see one like this again! This rare & unique Stilnova Italian design lamp is in near perfect original condition, it has barely been used and has been packaged away for probably more than half of a century - all completely intact and fully functional ready to install! No obvious signs of use damage or blemishes aside from light signs of handling mostly to the funnel edges. Original sockets and mounting plate rotary switch have been inspected, tested and appear to be clean, safe and fully operational...this fixture was originally intended to be hardwired to a wall fixture, the power cord shown in the pics was only temporary for photographic purposes This uber rare lamps general dimensions are 12" tall with a general shade width of 6", with the wall mount depth of 12"…standard screw-in style edison bulbs are NOT included.
