We are pleased to offer for sale an elegant mid-20th century Push Down Ashtray, a design certainly attributable to Aldo Tura. Made in Italy between the 1950s and 1960s, this vintage ashtray features a globular structure composed of two parts connected by an internal mechanism that hides the ash and prevents unpleasant odors from spreading.
The top is made of chromed brass and includes two cigar or cigarette holders, along with the push-button to open and close the ash compartment. It shows minimal signs of wear, as visible in the photos, where the slightly worn chrome reveals glimpses of the brass underneath.
The wooden bowl, covered in chocolate brown goatskin, houses a custom brass ash insert that can be removed for cleaning.
The piece is in good vintage condition, having been thoroughly cleaned, with all metal parts polished using a specialized product. Minor signs of age and use are visible, as highlighted in the photos.
All items shown in the photos are available in our curated selection on this site. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
