the patented snowsound fiber textile lends the lamp out- standing soundabsorbing qualities and acoustic performance.
produced in italy, the lamp is the result of high-precision work and technological advancement. The fabric is further completely recyclable while carrying a greenguard gold certification for being a low emitting product that contributes to improve indoor air quality.
part sculpture and part light source, isol can be used in a variety of combinations and in private and public environments as an aesthetic way of bringing acoustic properties into a space. Alone, it convinces through quiet authority offering a sense of privacy. In multiples, its distinctive character is enhanced by connecting the rings to extend lighting and noise-absorbing power. A seamless flow of colour and texture is created, while embracing the die-cast aluminium rings. Its internal details are not directly visible from the outside which allows the lamp to melt into the scenery turning it into a performing and life enhancing piece of design.

arteluce won numerous prizes and awards including the compasso d’oro in 1954 and 1955, and the honorary diploma of the milan triennale, becoming an important meeting place for many leading italian architects throughout the 1950s and 1960s. The first milanese arteluce retail space was designed with marco zanuso in 1951. Ten years later gino sarfatti and his lifelong friend vittoriano viganò designed their flagship location on via della spiga.

gino sarfatti was a significant figure in the history of italian industrial design, developing more than 700 luminaires. In 1973 he retired on lake como, with flos acquiring arteluce and their expansive catalog.
