These modern small square post earrings are cloisonné (filigree and enamel) work with Chinese traditional motifs and have bezel set oval cut blue topaz gemstones. Also they have the designer BG initial and 925 mark on the back.

Atlanta based jewelry designer Barbara Garwood traveled to the far border of China and found a group of Mongolian cloisonné artists around 30 years ago. Unfortunately this detail oriented hand crafted technique has faded away because the newer generation has not kept up their traditional skills.
