Their design features slender, high backrests with a fluid, arched silhouette reminiscent of a Venetian gondola. The wood, finished in a warm honey-brown hue with a satin lacquer, highlights the natural grain and smooth surface texture. The seats are upholstered in a striking black fabric with a subtle woven structure—a contrast that creates a dynamic interplay between classic and modern styles. The set includes two armchairs that enhance its versatility, and the design is distinguished by precise, seamless joinery and the absence of visible hardware. The chairs are in excellent original condition; one exhibits a minor scuff in the lacquer on the backrest—a trace of age and use that does not detract from the set's overall appeal. This collection embodies the elegance of 1970s and 80s Italian design. The warm, smooth wood reflects light with a subtle depth, while the black upholstery introduces a touch of urban modernity. The chairs seem to tell the story of an era where tradition met bold experimentation, and every detail played a deliberate role in the architecture of everyday life. They pair beautifully with a large wooden table in a matching tone or with a minimalist glass-topped table that accentuates their airy, lightweight profile. It works well in a dining room styled in the spirit of Italian modernism or in a formal living room, where the contrast between the wood texture and the fabric complements the simple forms of lamps or sculptural accessories. Pairing them with ceramics or graphic art featuring geometric lines helps highlight the interplay between postmodern nonchalance and classical discipline. The listed price is for a set of six chairs.
