Guarlotti was a pupil of Celestino Gilardi at the Accademia Albertina in Turin and worked close to Andrea Marchisio and Demetrio Cosola. He made his debut in 1894 exhibiting at the Promotrice delle Belle Arti and the Permanent Exhibition in Turin with the work Ritratto della madre (Portrait of his mother). In 1896 he was invited to the First Turin Triennale. He participated since then in all the exhibitions of the Turin Promotrice, those in Milan, Rome, Munich and Barcelona. He distinguished himself not only for his many portraits but also for his studies of animals made on the high pastures, studies of farm animals, macchiette and landscape. He painted in Val di Lanzo,Val di Susa, Valle d'Aosta, Turin, and Venice. He died in Turin on May 8, 1954. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
