“La Belle Ferronniere” a celebrated portrait by Leonardo da Vinci which he painted between 1490-1496. This print name comes from the delicate ferronniere (a narrow band with a jewel) worn around the woman’s forehead. The subject is often identified as Lucrezia Crivelli, a mistress of Ludovico Sforza, the Duke of Milan. The original masterpiece resides in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
The “A. Bin” in the bottom right corner indicates this is a later master copy done by Antonio Bin who created several replicas of this masterpiece. He is well respected for his craftsmanship.
Frame is ornately hand-crafted gilt wood.
