The antiqued painted finish on this table is exceptionally well done in a gray tone with pale blue rub-through accents. The expert technique makes this table look every bit the antique. Beyond the finish, however, is a wealth of carved foliate decorations along the frieze of the shaped front, as well as on the stretcher, which includes a round inlaid stone surface (identical to the table top), which can be used to display a vase or a small sculpture. The gently tapered fluted legs terminate in brass sabot feet. Just under the table top surface there is a line of lamb's tongue moulding -- it is true to say that no surface on this table is unadorned and yet, it doesn't appear excessive or overly ornate. The shaped table top is of a mottled stone in various shades of gray. This is a wonderfully proportioned and decorated console table that will be the highlight of any room, wherever it is used.
The dimensions of the table are: 48.5" wide x 19" deep x 34.75" high.
This table was purchased new in the early 2000s from Theodore Alexander Furniture -- although there is no label or markings -- for display in our high-end furniture and interior design showroom. This piece is no longer made and has been discontinued. It was never sold and is in excellent condition. Any scratches or imperfections are consistent with age and its use as a display piece in a high-end furniture showroom. See less
