A rare set of two Danish stoneware molds attributed to Kai Riis, dating from the mid-20th century.
Originally created as functional ceramic molds, these pieces today stand as highly sculptural objects with a strong architectural presence. The rhythmic grid of raised oval forms creates a bold geometric composition, characteristic of Scandinavian brutalist design.
Crafted in heavy stoneware, the surfaces display a rich natural patina with mineral deposits, wear, and tonal variations developed over time. These qualities enhance their visual depth and authenticity.
Stamped “Patent Anm. Kai Riis,” confirming their Danish origin.
Ideal as decorative wall objects, table sculptures, or part of a curated interior with a focus on materiality and form. Vintage condition with visible wear and patina consistent with age and use.
