Created in rooke’s uk workshop, the piece demonstrates his departure into a softer, sculptural idiom. The base is adorned with two prominent, hand-modelled red leaves — one on each face — enclosed by deeply ridged, ochre-toned ceramic blades suggestive of grass. A subdued lavender glaze encircles the neck, introducing tonal complexity and chromatic contrast. The palette — clay-rich reds, warm ochres, and mineral lavenders — evokes the british landscape, while maintaining the tactile intensity that defines mid-century british studio pottery. Stamped with rooke’s ‘br’ monogram to the underside, the lamp measures 28 cm high with a diameter of 16 cm. It is offered in very good vintage condition, retaining the integrity of its original ceramic structure.
