The figurine also functions as a spill vase, with a hollow tree stump form on the side designed to hold matches or small stems.

The figurine features fine detailing in the facial expression, drapery folds and textured base, characteristic of late 19th to early 20th century decorative porcelain. The underside is unglazed and shows a hand painted number (“39”), suggesting workshop or pattern identification.
