Elegant and atmospheric, this rare pair of wall lights by archimede seguso embodies the poetic refinement of early murano glass production in the mid-20th century. Each sconce features a softly flared, bell-shaped diffuser in hand-blown murano glass, executed in a refined balloton texture — a traditional venetian technique characterized by a diamond-point optical pattern, achieved through metal molds that imprint a subtle quilted geometry onto the surface. When illuminated, the glass comes alive: light fractures across the patterned relief, creating a warm, diffused glow that gently expands into the surrounding space. The organic silhouette — slightly cinched at the center and opening toward the rim — recalls floral forms, lending the pieces a natural softness that contrasts beautifully with the structured geometry of the glasswork. The diffusers are supported by a minimal, patinated brass structure, whose warm, aged tones anchor the composition. The understated mounting allows the glass to remain the visual focus, while the patina adds depth and authenticity, consistent with the period. There is a quiet balance here — between craftsmanship and simplicity, decoration and restraint. Unlit, the glass reveals its intricate surface. Lit, it transforms — becoming luminous, atmospheric, almost ethereal. A refined example of seguso vetri d’arte production, where traditional techniques are elevated into timeless design. Professionally rewired according to european standards. The lamp holders have been replaced and the sconces are now fitted with e27 sockets. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
