Subject and Style: It features a deep, elegantly lobed basin reminiscent of a large, stylized shell, a traditional symbol of purification. The back is characterized by elegant sculptural scrolls and a sturdy, rough-hewn block, originally designed to be firmly embedded in the wall.

Material and Finish: The font is hand-carved from a single, extremely heavy block of natural stone (weighing a remarkable 10 kg). The surface, exposed to the elements or liturgical use for decades, boasts a magnificent, layered natural patina, with fascinating color variations, traces of moss, and signs of erosion.
