The diptych Duality is a powerful visual metaphor for the complementary forces within our society. Ben Put addresses the coexistence of unique individuals who, despite their diverse backgrounds and personalities, together form a harmonious and vibrant whole. The vertical flows of color represent the diversity of opinions and cultures that make a community truly vibrant and engaging. The work serves as a reminder that resilience and unity – the "glue" of our society – are built upon mutual respect for our differences.
Stylistically, Put utilizes Color Field painting combined with subtle layering that evokes the historical evolution of a society. Colors overlap, blend, or run parallel to one another, while hidden structures reveal their depth only upon closer inspection. Duality is a symbol of connectivity: the two canvases achieve their full impact only through their direct interaction. It is an artistic invitation to recognize beauty in diversity and to prioritize what connects us over what divides us. This piece has an attribution mark,
