Originating from Brittany, it depicts a scene of daily life in bas-relief.

Antique labels from the furniture storage company Bedel et Compagnie are affixed to the back of the cabinet.
The upper section is removable and comprises 11 small shelves and a decorative back panel with floral motifs.
The central section features a top, a drawer with a bronze handle, and a cupboard door. The top has chamfered edges and is hand-decorated. The drawer is dovetailed and has a bronze handle, with a carved front.

The door is decorated in bas-relief with a scene of rural life circa 1850, depicting a man and a woman. The four corners are openwork. A working period lock secures the cabinet. Inside is a storage shelf.

The lower section is an open, balustraded cabinet with 23 shelves. The back panel is carved from a single piece of wood with leaf motifs.

Antique chestnut sideboard. This piece of furniture was deposited at the renowned public furniture storage facility Bedel et Compagnie, 18 rue Saint Augustin in Paris, a testament to the exceptional quality of this unique item. Numerous details and meticulous craftsmanship are evident in every part of the piece. The central bas-relief sculpture depicting a scene of daily life evokes a bygone era in the French countryside.
