In this series by London-based photographer Samuel Hicks, the words and lyrics of popular and sometimes evocative songs are set into the urban landscape in neon light.

In the darkened underpass of this lot the opening lyrics to the English rock band The Smiths' iconic song 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' are cast in yellow neon tubes and leave golden glow on the road and garages.

In spite of its somewhat dingy, late-night appearance in this photograph, Rowley Way is an extremely sough-after residential area in Camden, in North London.

In the 1960s, Camden was the third richest borough in all of London in terms of rentable value. Despite this, the borough needed more homes and so two borough architects were approached to design and spearhead the project.

During the 1960s most councils were opting in favour of concrete high-rises because they were cheap to construct. Neave Brown and Sydney Cook, the two architects who designed the estate, took their inspiration from the Royal Crescent in Bath, in the South-West of England, which was designed to follow the curve of a nearby railway line.

Fast-forward 60 years, through developing issues and budget inflations, burst water mains and shortage of materials, and the 21st century Camden is home to one of the most desirable locations in North London. Labeled by Maker,Numbered See less
