Jeroen de ruddere in 2019, the fl4 family marked my entry into the world of contemporary lighting design. Not simply as a series of floor lamps, but as a study in proportion. A rethinking of what a lamp and shade could be. Their sculptural silhouettes introduced a quiet kind of presence, where simplicity gains weight and form becomes emotion. From that point on, my work unfolded into a recognisable design language. I began exploring the tension between materials: the grounded warmth of wood, the delicacy of refined fabrics, the architectural clarity that emerges when both meet. This dialogue shaped my signature - lighting objects that feel intuitive, tactile, and timeless. Today, i continue to follow that same instinctive way of creating, letting form arise from what moves me. Nature, architecture, and the details of daily life guide my sense of proportion and tension. I allow materials to reveal their character, until a piece shifts from an object into a feeling; light becomes presence. My collection keeps evolving, wood, bronze, steel, and textile, materials that hold both depth and restraint. They shape my ongoing exploration of sculptural lighting: pieces that search for connection, not only with the space they inhabit, but with the person who chooses them. I created my own family tree in design. While family is normally about blood ties, my pieces share a common dna. Together, they tell my story. A jeroen de ruddere piece is minimalistic, warm, sculptural, and functional.
