Two large ceramic horse heads with a glossy white glaze, inspired by the "Horses of Saint Mark" or the so-called Protome Carafa horse head by Donatello.
The two heads have different expressions: open mouths, flowing manes, or manes neatly trimmed, but both highlight the detailed musculature of the horse, suggesting realism and movement.
Italian work, 20th century, some wear, chips, and old restorations (especially on the nostrils of one of them). Normal crazing in the glaze.
