The grapevine motif (vines, leaves, grape clusters) is a recurring decorative theme strongly associated with Victorian, Art Nouveau, and early 20th-century European craftsmanship, which explains why they look older than the 1950s — they were likely made in a historicist or revival style, deliberately evoking an earlier aesthetic.Dimensions (H 100 cm × Ø 30 cm, usable top Ø 24 cm) are very typical for this type. The solid, full-grain construction and substantial weight point to genuine quality hardwood, most likely Cuban or African mahogany, both of which were commonly used in mid-century European furniture workshops.
