It features three harmoniously inlaid drawers: in the center, a burl wood panel with warm hues, framed by a light wood border forming delicate Greek-style angles, the whole accentuated by a border that structures the front with simplicity and distinction.
Each drawer is adorned with two round gilded bronze handles, finely chased with a laurel wreath, a classic symbol from the reign of Louis XVI. In the center, a ribbon-adorned keyhole, also in gilded bronze, accommodates an ornate key accompanied by its functional lock.
The upper portions of the front legs are decorated with a gilt bronze frieze depicting a delicately modeled garland, applied to a pilaster. The lower rail is embellished with a bronze trim featuring acanthus leaves, adding a decorative touch without weighing down the silhouette.
The piece rests on tapered legs, also inlaid, ending in brass feet that evoke the tradition of 18th-century cabinetmakers. The top is crowned with white Brèche de Médous marble, recognizable by its gray veins and subtle purplish inclusions, adding a luminous and elegant touch to the composition.
A luminous and perfectly balanced piece, this small chest of drawers combines the charm of precious materials with the rigor of the Louis XVI style, offering a presence that is both ornamental and timeless.
