The hand-carved oak screw forms a beautifully regular threaded shaft—its successive rings create a play of light and shadow that gives it a truly sculptural presence. The patina is dark and deep, enriched by over a century of use. A few natural cracks in the wood serve as reminders of the piece's age, without compromising its sturdiness.

The original metal base, with its metal band, is solid and raw, possessing the industrial-rustic character typical of antique tools. The circular wooden top completes the piece with understated elegance.
