The piece bears the carved monogram "JB" and is signed on the back of the hat. Documented as the artist's only known work executed in wood, the piece depicts a female figure in a dynamic, sweeping pose, holding a hat behind her head. The design reflects structural and aesthetic influences of the Danish Skønvirke movement.
