The work portrays a young boy with the distinctive features of the myth of Alexander the Great, characterized by his famous hairstyle with a knotted quiff on his forehead (anastolé),

a beloved theme in Gemito's artistic production.

The sculpture exudes extraordinary vitality: the intense gaze, the slightly open mouth, and the naturalistic rendering of the hair testify to the artist's technical mastery in capturing the soul of his subjects.

The bust rests on an elegant molded circular base, embellished on the front with a small frieze depicting a winged cherub/genie,

a detail that enhances the rarity of the piece.
