Crafted in burr walnut, the table features superb quality marquetry decoration with ormolu mounts and inlay of pewter, lapis lazuli, and agate with veneers of cherry, pear, amboyna, and magnolia. This table can seat sixteen people in royal comfort and is an amazing piece of luxury furniture which will add splendour to any room. It would also be ideal as a feature piece in a large hotel dining room, or a luxurious lobby or conference room, and it is sure to be a talking point. Due to its beautifully figured grain, burr walnut has been used for centuries by fine furniture makers. This large dining table has been inlaid in pewter and various coloured veneers comprising cherry, pear, amboyna, burr walnut, and magnolia, with inserts of lapis lazuli. The frieze of the table is decorated with ormolu mounts inset with semi-precious stones, such as agate, cornelian, malachite, etc. To highlight the natural grain of the wood and the excellent artistry of the marquetry, the table has been French Polished by hand. This wonderful, large dining table is raised on two burr walnut ebonised and marquetry inlaid pedestals with hand-carved lion's paw feet. Condition: In really excellent condition, having only been beautifully cleaned, polished, and waxed in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.
