Remploy was originally established under the terms of the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act 1944, to directly employ disabled persons in specialised factories. Remploy’s first factory opened in Bridgend, Wales, in 1946 and Remploy still operates to this day. These chairs are a classic Remploy design produced in volume in the 1950’s. The chairs feature the classic Remploy tubular structure with heavy weight birch seats and backs. Our workshop has cleaned and serviced each chair they are good to go.

All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
