These fantastic lamps were made in France in the 1960s and are attributed to the master craftsman Louis Sognot. The lamps are a clear example of the organic craftsmanship and design of the 1960s, executed in a spectacular blend of rattan and wicker in perfect proportions. The round shade is decorated with bent rattan and embellished with fantastic hand-woven wicker work. It is lined on the inside with a parchment-like material that makes the lamps truly spectacular when lit. The base of each lamp consists of three bent rattan legs further enhanced with wicker. Completely original and in spectacular condition, this stunning lamp set is a must-have for any lover of the Côte d'Azur style. It comes pre-wired and tested, compatible with both American and European standards, and uses a single E14 bulb. This lamp will be perfect for a mid-century living room or to complement a conservatory thanks to its elegance and harmony. Dimensions (cm): Diameter 24 cm / Height 34 cm. Louis Sognot was a French designer known for his elegant furniture made from a combination of rattan and wood. Sognot was influenced by Art Deco and Cubist aesthetics, giving his work a unique stylistic touch while remaining functional. Born on May 25, 1892, in Paris, France, Sognot studied at the École Bernard-Pablissy before working as a designer at the Au Printemps department store in Paris in 1919. He later became a founding member of the Union des Artistes Décorateurs (Union of Decorative Artists). He died in 1970 in Paris, France.
