The combination of transparent and blue acrylic creates a subtle interplay between diffused and direct light, giving the lamp a different character from every angle. The design from 2002 for the swiss brand mox consists of a curved white metal frame with two e27 fittings, surrounded by two curved acrylic (perspex) panels: one clear transparent and one blue tinted. One side appears classic opal white, the other transparent and coloured. The blue panel subtly filters the light, while the clear panel allows the light to pass through freely. This creates a layered effect with a striking contrast between diffused and direct light. The visible fixings and the honest use of materials are characteristic of swiss minimalism from the early 2000s: clearly constructed, functional and without unnecessary details.
