Elegant pair of italian wall sconces from the 1950s, defined by a refined and fluid composition combining brass, green lacquered brass, and opaline glass.
each sconce is structured around a circular wall plate in green lacquered brass (10 cm / 3.94 inches in diameter), from which a slender brass arm rises in a smooth, continuous curve before gently bending forward to support the shade. The line of the arm creates a light, almost calligraphic gesture, giving the piece a sense of movement and balance.
the light source is enclosed in a softly tapered opaline glass shade, slightly rounded and narrowing toward the opening. The glass diffuses light evenly, producing a warm and soft glow, while maintaining a clean and understated presence when unlit.
the contrast between the warm brass, the matte green lacquered elements, and the milky white glass results in a harmonious yet distinctive palette, characteristic of italian mid-century design.
the brass surfaces show a natural, even patina with subtle tonal variations consistent with age. The green lacquered elements are well preserved, with minor signs of wear. The opaline glass shades are in very good condition, free from cracks or chips.
