Handmade by artist J. Christensen, this huge carved soapstone Eskimo sculpture showcases intricate details and cultural significance and weighs over 50 pounds. Originating from Canada, this artwork represents the rich history and traditions of the Canadian Aboriginal people, making it a valuable collectible for those interested in cultural artifacts. The stone has exquisite green and brown colors with lovely veining and hand cut and inlaid two toned eyes. There is engraved detailing on the mittens as seen and he is mounted to a thick wooden base. The piece is in good condition and the sculpture alone measures 21 1/2 inches tall by 8 inches wide by 5 inches back to front. The base measures 15 3/4 inches by 14 3/4 inches wide by 2 1/8 inches thick. The stone has some natural imperfections throughout that is not chipped or damaged. See less
