At the center, a 0.40ct old European cut diamond graded E-F in color and VS1-VS2 in clarity — an exceptional quality stone for any era, and particularly remarkable for a diamond of this age. The old European cut, with its larger culet, higher crown, and smaller table, produces a distinctive warm, candlelight brilliance quite different from a modern brilliant — deeply sought after by antique jewelry collectors. Hand-engraved details of this intricacy are rarely seen in production jewelry today, requiring a level of craftsmanship that has largely disappeared from the trade. A ring built to last another hundred years.
Art Deco jewelry (roughly 1920–1940) is defined by its geometric precision, intricate hand-work, and the era's fascination with contrast and symmetry.
