It features original fittings which include side and drawer handles. This cabinet once belonged to a Scholar who used it to primarily store scrolls. Camphor wood was used to craft the cabinet to protect scrolls from insects as the strong smell of the wood acted as a repellant. It features a mix of shallow and elongated drawers. There are markings and scratches on the wood due to its more than 100 years of age and age related patina on the metal fittings. See less
