Handwoven basket by noted North Carolina maker Billy Ruth Sudduth, created in 1997 and sold through Jacobs Baskets in Bakersville. Features a striking openwork design with alternating natural and dark-dyed woven elements, giving it a sculptural, almost architectural look.
Well-crafted with a sturdy structure and beautiful contrast between the light frame and darker woven bands. A strong example of Appalachian basketry with both functional and decorative appeal. Retains original Jacobs Baskets tag.
