Most Swedish textile pendant lamps from this period used a single material. Here, a crisp, pleated cream-colored linen cone sits above a cylindrical drum body, which is covered in a geometric cream-colored lace covering, and the two panels meet in a precisely crafted cord border. The lighting effect is unlike anything a shade made from a single material can create: the lace casts a warm patterned light on the surrounding walls, while the pleated crown softens the light above it. Brass shade fitting and decorative closure in very good condition. White textile cord.

This is a piece that deserves attention - the kind that interior designers and serious collectors of Scandinavian decorative art will immediately recognize as something that will not come around twice.

The exterior condition is excellent - no tears, no discoloration, the lace panel and linen are completely intact. There are minor age spots on the inside of the lampshade that are invisible from the outside. Please see photos. See less
