his antique cork diorama presents an abandoned church set within a hand-carved architectural setting, framed by two trees against a painted backdrop of drifting clouds. The structure features a bell tower with a movable bell and a foreground wall rendered with intentional damage to evoke decay. These deliberate references to ruin were popular motifs in Romantic era art.. Housed under glass in its original gold-painted frame. Small cork flecks visible on the interior glass.
