This vintage … Read more A strikingly handsome tall chest of drawers in a brown tortoise shell lacquer finish by John Widdicomb Furniture. This vintage piece, which was on display in our high-end furniture interior design showroom, boasts wonderful architectural design with chamfered corners and square tapered columns surmounted by a finely cast classical caryatid and terminating in brass accented tapered feet; cast brass ring pulls on the drawer fronts and brass moulding complete the sleek aspect of this stunning Art Deco-style chest. The tortoise shell lacquer has a gloss finish and glows with various shades of brown, from golden brown to dark mahogany brown.

48" wide at its widest (45.75" wide at the narrowest) x 29" deep x 47.5" high
This chest was purchased new from John Widdicomb Furniture -- though it is missing a label and is not marked -- in the 1990s. It was never sold and was only on display in our showroom. The piece is in excellent condition.
Any checking or fine imperfections of the lacquered finish on this piece are consistent with age and its use as a display piece in our showroom. See less
