The desk appears to be … Read more Found in France, this small writing desk, or bonheur du jour, dates from approximately 1900. The desk appears to be made of mahogany and features a white and gray marble top with a brass gallery. The front, sides, and legs are trimmed in brass. The upper section features three functional drawers with dovetail construction, brass handles and escutcheons, and decorative brass-trimmed columns. A pull-out writing surface with a new black leather top sits above a single drawer below. Legs are fluted and tapered with brass trim and brass-capped feet. Maker unknown. No keys found with the desk. Very good overall antique condition with minor, scattered age-related wear and patina. See less
