One little leg is missing on the bottom, but still stands fine without tilting. It can also be removed from the base. Please see pictures.

The knob features raised lettering reading:

"PUBLIC SCHOOL – CITY OF NEW YORK"

These distinctive institutional knobs were used in New York City school buildings in the late 19th to early 20th century and are highly sought after by collectors of architectural salvage and NYC historical items.
