A vibrant and characteristically joyful interior café scene by Israeli Post-Impressionist master Itzchak Tarkay (1935–2012). Full Table #4, dated 2005, depicts five figures gathered at café tables in an animated, color-saturated interior, with a glimpse of a Mediterranean-style streetscape through the window. The composition showcases Tarkay's signature bold outlines, flat planes of pure color, and warm figural sensibility — clearly indebted to Matisse and Toulouse-Lautrec.
Medium: Watercolor, drawing, and mixed media on wove paper
Image size: 12" × 10½"
Framed size: Approximately 26" × 23" (ornate carved and gilded wood frame with linen mat and inner gilt fillet)
Year: 2005
Signed: In ink, lower left
Edition: Unique work — from the collection of the artist
Comes with original Park West Gallery Certificate of Authenticity (Registration No. 150301.0000, signed by Director Albert Scaglione). Label on verso reads "TARK Full Table #4."
The ornate gilt frame is a substantial decorative asset in its own right — deep carved acanthus relief with ebonized accent beads, in excellent condition with only minor age wear consistent with normal handling.
A complete, well-documented, single-owner example of Tarkay's mature café interior work.

No visible foxing, fading, toning, or water damage to the image. Colors remain vivid and fully saturated. Ink lines are crisp throughout. Minor natural settling of the watercolor wash in the lower foreground shadow area appears intentional and original to the composition — not damage. Frame is an ornate carved gilt wood with linen mat and inner gilt fillet. Frame shows minor wear consistent with normal handling and age — small stress crack visible at one corner joint (upper right, visible in detail photos) but structurally sound. No losses to the gesso relief. Mat is clean with no staining or discoloration. Work is glazed (appears to be glass, not acrylic). Glass is intact with no chips or cracks observed. Overall a very presentable, shelf-ready example requiring no restoration. less
